Earlier this week, the best bartending talent in Inverness gathered to battle it out in the Aviation Gin cocktail competition held at Bar One!
The competition was set up to celebrate 100 years of the classic Aviation cocktail, and true to the namesake Gin, with it’s unusual flavour profile and bonkers recommended serve (Irn Bru (a Scottish tonic don’t you know?)) they were tasked with ‘Flying in the face of tradition’.
A two part competition, 10 of the top Bartenders in Inverness were challenged to create a totally balanced classic Aviation cocktail for the Judges, followed by their own creative, unique serve.
In all aspects, Andy stood out from the crowd, with his confident and knowledgeable presentation, a perfectly balanced cocktail and a unique and inventive bespoke serve, he beat down competition to be crowned ‘Lord of Gin’ (we made that title up but we like it!)
- 50ml Aviation Gin
- 15ml homemade crème de violet
- 15ml homemade blackberry and chai tea syrup
- 15ml lemon juice
- 10ml black pepper infused maraschino
Well done Andy!!!
